Welcome Spring!

The warm weather and sunshine is invigorating.  I feel as though I am waking from a long winter’s nap.  It makes sense since today is the Spring Equinox.  I love the equinoxes. That sense of balance in the physical world where there is an equal amount of light and dark. It is a time of transition, either transitioning into more daylight as we approach summer or less daylight as we approach winter.  Equinoxes are a great time for setting resolutions or starting something new.  So if your New Year’s resolution is a distant memory, the equinox is a great time to revisit your goals.

Speaking of starting something new, in addition to teaching Yoga Nidra, I am adding Hypnotherapy as another powerful healing modality to my offerings.  Hypnotherapy is closely related to Yoga Nidra in that it uses deep relaxation to access different brain wave states to communicate with our subconscious and/or superconscious mind.

Yoga Nidra is like rebooting a computer, sometimes when your computer starts to glitch, shutting down and restarting clears the problems, the same with our minds.  When we are stressed out, overworked, or over stimulated, our minds start to glitch.  Yoga Nidra uses deep, restorative relaxation to allow the mind to shut down, let go, unwind, rest and reset. Yoga Nidra is like a power nap on steroids, creating profound rejuvenation of body, mind and spirit.

Hypnotherapy is more like using Norton utilities to to purge your computer of a virus that is causing the glitch, restoring your computer to its full processing power.  Hypnotherapy is more targeted at a particular problem you are having and utilizing the power of your own mind to fix it.  In hypnotherapy, the hypnotherapist guides the client into a hypnotic state and then helps facilitate uncovering the root of the problem.  Once the root of the problem has been identified, the client is guided through a powerful process to resolve the issue, leaving the client free of the problematic issue and feeling more connected to inner love, peace and joy.

Even though the purposes of Yoga Nidra and Hypnotherapy are different, the long term benefits of practicing Yoga Nidra and Hypnotherapy are similar, here are a few;  increased self awareness, connection to higher self, a greater sense of ease and joy, inner peace, resiliency, improved cognition, concentration and memory, improved decision making,  improved immune function, improved sleep, increased self worth, self esteem and confidence, reduced stress and conflict, improved relationships, reduction in anxious and depressive thoughts, restructure old, restrictive limiting beliefs, and overall improvement of health and well being.  Both Yoga Nidra and Hypnotherapy leave you feeling refreshed and restored to your innate wholeness.

Our minds can be our most powerful ally, using them to help improve our lives and the lives of others is a worthwhile endeavor.  If you are interested in or have questions about Yoga Nidra or Hypnotherapy, please reach out and contact me at kirstengoliver@gmail.com.

May your equinox be balanced and blissful!
