Birds of a Feather
During my classroom teaching days, I observed a recurring pattern among my students: they naturally gravitated toward those with similar temperaments. Whenever a new student entered the classroom, I could almost immediately sense the type of student they would become based on the peers they aligned with. It was a clear demonstration of the old saying, “Birds of a feather flock together,” playing out in real time.
This tendency is just as true for adults. We are drawn to “like-minded” individuals—those who share our interests, dispositions, and outlooks. When I surround myself with such people, I notice that my energy feels elevated, as if the vibrations between us amplify one another. On the other hand, have you ever encountered someone with whom you simply do not connect, even though they seem perfectly pleasant? You cannot quite pinpoint the reason, but something just feels misaligned.
I believe this phenomenon comes down to energy vibrations. Years ago, I read a fascinating book called Power vs. Force by Dr. David R. Hawkins. In it, Hawkins assigns vibrational frequencies to different emotional states. My personal belief is that the energy we hold in any given moment attracts corresponding energy from others. For example, if you are feeling down and begin venting to your co-workers, some will resonate with that energy, while others will not. Similarly, when you are joyful and optimistic, your energy will attract some individuals and repel others.
This is not to suggest that we should dismiss or avoid emotions labeled as "low vibrational." All emotions deserve to be honored. However, it is worth noting that the longer we remain in these lower vibrational states, the more we tend to attract similar energy. The same principle applies to higher vibrations—the more we embody them, the more we draw in positive energy and experiences.
Lately, I must be operating at a higher frequency because yesterday, I had the most wonderful group of attendees at my workshop! They were thoughtful, curious, and kind, and I am deeply grateful to everyone who participated. Together, we engaged in profound discussions about a topic close to my heart—the more esoteric aspects of hypnosis. We explored how hypnosis can be used to connect with our higher selves and apply these techniques to fully step into our highest potential.
If you missed this workshop, no worries —four more workshops are coming soon! I am truly inspired by the growing number of people interested in expanding their consciousness and raising their vibrations to align with who they are meant to become.
If you are a curious, open-minded soul ready to explore your potential, I invite you to join me for my next workshop, Creating & Manifesting, on November 17 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Local Co-op—or online via Zoom, if that is more convenient for you.
In the meantime, take a moment each day to tune into your energy. Notice what raises your vibration, and let yourself lean into those moments. Growth happens when we become intentional about the energy we carry and cultivate.
I look forward to continuing this journey with you—one aligned, high-vibrational step at a time.
